My portraits are another way of diving into the persona of today's popular musicians. They look beyond the character the musicians have created for the public and into the heart of who they are as people. They show the road the musicians have travelled, the set backs they have encountered, the decisions they have made, the hard work they have committed and the joys that keep them going back on stage every night. On top of that, they also speak about me, who I am as a person and an artist and how I perceive other artists and their ambitions. In the end the portraits are less about capturing someone's likeness and more about finding the soul that makes them who they are. |
